Suspect wanted for attempted rape in the Bronx

CONCOURSE, Bronx (WABC) -- Police in the Bronx are searching for a suspect in an attempted rape in the Concourse section on Wednesday night.

Police say that at approximately 10:15 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was walking into the elevator of her building near the corner of East 162nd Street and Sheridan Avenue when a man followed her in.

The suspect then followed the woman as she exited the elevator and tried to enter her apartment, he then grabbed her buttocks as he approached from behind with his pants down.

He attempted to pull the woman away from the door, but ran away when another person came to the door.

The suspect is described as 5'8", 160 pounds, and was last seen wearing a striped hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants.
