Stray bullet strikes Northvale, New Jersey man

NORTHVALE, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police say a man who thought he was shot by a pellet gun at his home in Northvale, was actually shot with a small caliber bullet.

The incident happened Thursday night on Franklin Street when the victim said he was shot outside his home after hearing a loud bang.

Police say the bullet may have been a random shot that was fired.

The 53-year-old victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a leg injury.
