NEWARK (WABC) -- Prosecutors in New Jersey announced arrests Monday in two high-profile murders involving teenagers.

Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said three men have been arrested for the June 25th killing of Brendan Tevlin.

The suspects are 29-year old Ali Muhammad Brown, a registered sex offender from Seattle, 19-year old Jeremy Villagran of West Orange, and 18-year old Eric Williams of West Orange.

The 19-year-old Tevlin, a Livingston resident, had just completed his first year at the University of Richmond when he was shot dead in West Orange. His body was found in his car.

Police say Brown was found living in a tent in the woods, and had the murder weapon in his possession at the time of his arrest.

They also say that Villagran and Williams surrounded Tevlin's car to try to rob him.

"Several individuals in a separate car had positioned themselves in their car behind him, and tragically he was at that time a simple victim of an intent to rob," said Murray. "Passengers in the second car got out and surrounded Brendan Tevlin's car, his grandfather's car that he was driving that evening. One individual interacted briefly with Tevlin and then from the passenger side of that vehicle, shot at him ten times."

In the other case, 31-year old Andre Fields was arrested for the June 29th murder and robbery of Cheyanne Bond.

Bond, a 17-year old Irvington cheerleader, had just graduated high school and planned to attend college in September when she was gunned down in Newark.
