CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WABC) -- A New Jersey State Trooper who was investigating an accident became the subject of yet another investigation when the window of his vehicle was shattered.

The trooper was working a scene on I-78 in Clinton Township early Saturday morning when an unknown object crashed through the window of his marked SUV.

The highway was shut down for hours as police searched for a suspect, but came up empty handed.
