NEW YORK (WABC) -- No arrests have been made after a man was slashed on the East Side Wednesday night following a bar fight apparently about drinking in uniform.

Police said the victim got into a fight around 7:45 p.m. inside the Turtle Bay bar at Second Avenue and 52nd Street in Manhattan.

Witnesses said they saw a Marine approach a group of service members who were drinking in uniform and tell them they were a disgrace for doing so.

A fight broke out and spilled outside. Somehow the Marine was slashed in the back. The group of service members ran away after the fight.

The Marine, 35, is not actively serving. He spent the night at Bellevue hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening. He is stable.

Police said the suspect was wearing fatigues. No arrests have been made.
