No one hurt after freight train crashes into tractor trailer

MASPETH, N.Y. (WABC) -- A freight train hauling trash collided with a tractor-trailer in Queens.

The collision occurred at a train crossing at Rust Street and Maspeth Avenue around 12:45 a.m.

Train was going about 10 miles an hour and was hauling trash when it collided with an 18-wheeler. It pushed the tractor-trailer about 100-200 feet down the tracks. The truck had been carrying party supplies.

The tractor-trailer driver jumped from the vehicle, which then caught fire. He was taken to the hospital.

The train conductor and engineer refused medical attention.

The tracks are maintained by New York and Atlantic Railway.
