NYPD looking for man who assaulted woman walking her dog in Chelsea

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NYPD released new surveillance video on Thursday that they hope will help them find a man who assaulted a woman in Chelsea.

Police say that on Sunday, May 22nd at just after 10 p.m. near 125 West 15th Street, a 52-year-old woman was walking her dog when a man approached her.

He began arguing with her, threw something at her, punched her in the face, and then ran away.

"He gets up and seems to leave, but actually doubles back and is then face to face with me screaming, jabbing his finger in my face, and out of nowhere punches me and fractures my nose," the victim said.

The victim, who does not want to be identified, wasn't hospitalized following the incident.

The suspect is described as wearing a baseball cap, jacket, pants, and sneakers.
