NYPD officers talk suicidal man down from Manhattan Bridge

NEW YORK -- NYPD officers came to the rescue of a man who was threatening to jump from the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday.

At about 2:15, there was a 911 call of an emotionally disturbed person on the bridge.

Five officers responded and scaled the bridge to the man's location.

After several minutes of communication with him, he agreed to leave the bridge with the Emergency Service officers.

The ESU officers placed a rescue harness onto the man in order to assist him of the bridge. EMS responded and transported him to Bellevue Hospital.
