Officials rescue two bald eagles in Florida

ORANGE COUNTY, FL -- Officials were able to rescue two bald eagles from a storm drain after hours of distress in Orange County, Florida.

The eagle fell into the storm drain after another eagle it was next to flew away, WFTV reports.

Florida Fish and Wildlife assisted in the rescue.

For nearly 90 minutes, the rescue of the two bald eagles captured the attention of the internet. Back in 1987, the world was gripped for days as firefighters tried to reach Baby Jessica in a well in Midland, Texas.

For more than two tense days, we held our collective breath as what happened next became the focus of every media outlet in the country, with Americans watching and waiting to see if the toddler could be saved in time.

It took 58 hours, but finally Jessica was pulled from the well safely.
