NEW YORK (WABC) -- Doctors evaluating a patient with some symptoms of Ebola say the person does not have the virus.

The person was taken to Bellevue Hospital on Monday evening after returning from Guinea.

Eyewitness News is told that the patient had no known exposure to Ebola.

Doctors were evaluating the patient to determine if an Ebola test was even required.

The Department of Health issued a statement: "The patient who arrived at HHC's Bellevue Hospital Center yesterday did not have the clinical findings associated with Ebola risk, and it has been ruled out as a diagnosis. The patient has been safely discharged."
