NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police have located a mentally-disabled man who mysteriously disappeared after running the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday.

Gianclaudio Marengo, 30, came with a group from Italy to run. Police said he crossed the finish line in Central Park around 3:03 p.m. Sunday, grabbed his things, then disappeared.

He was spotted on a southbound No. 2 subway near 34th Street and Seventh Avenue by off-duty NYPD Officer Man Yem Tuesday morning. The officer was on his way to work and recognized the man.

Yem took Marengo to the 1st Precinct in Lower Manhattan, and then he was taken to the hospital to get checked out.

He was still wearing his running clothes and appeared to be in good condition.
