Police arrest amateur boxer in attack on girlfriend

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (WABC) -- An amateur boxer has been arrested after his girlfriend was attacked at home in Brooklyn.

Josh Luteran, 30, was arrested Wednesday in the 800 block of Amsterdam Avenue. He has been charged with robbery and assault.

On Tuesday, the woman, who is now in a medically induced coma, was punched in the head, police said.

According to the New York City Police Department, police were called to the home near Bedford Avenue and Jefferson Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, around 1 a.m.

The suspect fled and the victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical but stable condition.
