Around 5 p.m. Aug. 2, 38-year old Duaine Stenneth was standing at the driver's side door of his white van in the store parking lot when a red pick-up truck hit him, police said.
In security camera video, the truck is seen veering right into the side of the van, striking Stenneth, and driving away without stopping.

According to the New York City Police Department, the truck then fled. The hit-and-run was in the Edenwald section, at Grace Avenue and East 233 Street.
Stenneth was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he is in serious condition.
"I can't believe it, I just can't believe it," said Vernon Allen, the victim's landlord.
Friends and family of the victim spent the day struggling to understand why anyone would leave him for dead.
Gary Reed, who shops at the plaza in the heart of Edenwald, watched the video and said he's not surprised the driver didn't stop.
"It's just a terrible accident," said Reed. "I was just thinking about myself, how many times I've done the same thing. Get out of the car and somebody got too close."
One man's friend dove out of the way as the truck picked up speed to flee.
"He was scared. He thought he was going to be the next victim of that hit-and-run," a man said.
The shopping center, with a large supermarket and other stores is very busy, area residents say.
But police are hoping someone recognized the pick-up truck with a distinctive cover over the bed. The truck also has damage to the right front portion.
The vehicle is described as a red Ford F-150.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
