Man in Bronx impersonates police officer, robs victim, escapes

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are looking for a suspect they said impersonated a police officer last week.

According to the New York City Police Department, on Friday at 11 a.m., the suspect along with another man knocked on the door to an apartment in the Bronx. The suspects told the man who answered that they were police officers, but once inside handcuffed the victim and threatened him with a gun.

The suspects then robbed the victim.

NYPD officers responding to a 911 call, found the two suspects in a rear alleyway and arrested one of them. The other suspect fled, leaving behind the victim's property.

The suspect is a black male, 40- to 50-years-old, 5 feet 9 inches, 200 pounds, and was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
