Newark double shooting leaves man dead, pregnant woman hurt

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A man was killed and a pregnant woman shot in Newark overnight.

The gunshots were fired inside a Seymour Avenue home just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

One person was shot in the kitchen and another in a bedroom.

The woman, about nine months pregnant, was shot in the left foot. She was taken to University Hospital in Newark.

The man was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police made no immediate arrests.

The Essex County Prosecutors Office is investigating the double shooting.
