BRONX (WABC) -- A rally was held Monday night in support of a man who was randomly attacked on the street in the Bronx.

Friends and family gathered in Westchester Square to denounce the assault on 49-year-old Muhammad Ali Haider.

The Bangladeshi man is in the hospital suffering from injuries.

He was walking down the street when police say one of the four men seen in surveillance video; suddenly hit him for no reason.

There has been a spike in attacks on members of the Bangladeshi community going back to the beginning of this year.
