HOUSTON -- Officials say a U.S. Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing at a Houston airport after a problem with its nose gear.

Local media outlets report the plane landed Monday night without its nose gear being deployed at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It touched down on a runway before coming to a halt.

American Airlines said in a statement at least 52 passengers and four crew members were on board Flight 1825 that was operated by U.S. Airways.

The airline service says one passenger was taken to a hospital with injuries that aren't considered to be serious.

The Embraer 190 aircraft had taken off from Philadelphia International Airport.
