EAST VILLAGE (WABC) -- Living next to a 7-Eleven is anything but convenient for some residents in the East Village.
Tenants in the building next to the chain on Avenue A and 11th Street say a loud refrigeration unit is keeping them awake.
The city ordered the year-old store to stop using the unit saying it violated the noise code, but 7-Eleven plans to appeal the order Tuesday.
Fed up residents say they just want a decent night of sleep.
Local officials and community members say they have not received a response from 7-Eleven.
Eyewitness News also reached out to the company but has not heard back.
