Sketch released of suspect wanted in Queens subway push onto tracks

CORONA, Queens (WABC) -- Police have released a sketch of the man they said pushed a teenage girl into the path of an oncoming subway train in Queens.

Investigators said the suspect shoved a 15-year-old girl onto the tracks in front of an oncoming 7 train Saturday night at the Roosevelt Avenue and 103rd Street station.

The motorman of the train saw the girl on the tracks as the train was approaching and activated the emergency brake, and the girl was able to duck between the platform and the wheels of the train and avoid being seriously injured.

She was removed to Elmhurst Hospital via EMS with only minor injuries.

The suspect fled from the mezzanine area of the station toward the street area.

He is described as approximately mid-to-late 20s and standing 5-foot-5. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers.
