PARAMUS, N.J. (WABC) -- Tips on social media helped to find a missing sign that apparently means the world to some folks in New Jersey.

It reads "Welcome to Paramus"

The sign, worth more than $3,000 was found Monday afternoon, dumped in Saddle River County Park.

Police say tips on Facebook led them to it.

It was stolen last month from the Grove Street-Midland Avenue entrance to the Bergen County Borough.

"Most likely it was a juvenile prank or a teenage prank, the sign is large, it's six feet wide by four feet high, plus another foot for the Little League 2011 Champion banner that's hung on the bottom there. It weighs over 100 pounds, the sign cost over $3,000, so the kids whoever carried it, there was more than one or two of them, there had to be a few of them to carry this," said Det. Sgt. John Devine, of the Paramus Police Department.

Police say the sign will cleaned and touched up, then remounted more securely.
