Surveillance video of suspect wanted for attempted rape on Lower East Side.

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- Police released surveillance video of a suspect who they say tried to rape a woman in Manhattan.

The victim told officers a man followed her into the elevator of her building Saturday evening near Stanton and Pitt Street on the Lower East Side.

Once inside, he pushed her up against the wall and groped her.

He then tried to follow the victim into her apartment, police say, but ran off when a man from inside came to the door.

The suspect is described as approximately 16-20 years-old, light skinned 5'2" to 5'4" and 130 pounds.
