GREENWICH VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- State Sen. Brad Hoylman said a swastika was found scratched into his apartment building on Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village.

He tweeted a picture:

A neighbor in Hoylman's building discovered the swastika Tuesday.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio responded via Twitter:

The New York City Police Department's Hate Crime Unit is investigating.
