Teen bicyclist in Midtown fatally struck by truck

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- A 17-year-old riding a bicycle was fatally struck by a turning box truck in Midtown early Thursday.

Police responded to a 911 call that a vehicle hit a bicyclist at West 55th Street and 10th Avenue around midnight.

Authorities said the teen bicyclist, identified as Corbin Carr, was northbound on 10th Avenue in the east lane when a 2004 Isuzu box truck traveling west hit him.

He was taken to Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the box truck stayed at the scene, and no criminality is suspected.
