Authorities have identified the two men killed in a Newark shooting over the weekend

NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- The victims in a deadly shooting in Newark over the weekend have been identified, while authorities continue to search for the gunman or gunmen.

The incident happened Saturday night on Pennsylvania Avenue near Lincoln Park.

Authorities say one man was pronounced dead at the scene, while another died a short time later at a hospital.

The victims were identified Sunday as 26-year-old Niger Farrell, of East Orange, and 20-year-old Darnell Holmes, of Newark.

Two other East Orange men, ages 25 and 28, were wounded in the shooting.

Police say their injuries are not considered life-threatening, but further details were not released.

Further details on the shooting were not disclosed, including what type of weapon may have been used. No arrests have been made.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
