Woman targeted in Central Park with racial remarks, pellet gun

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police are looking for a group of men and women who attacked a jogger with a pellet gun in Central Park on Monday.

Around midnight near 60th Street and West Drive, a 36-year-old woman reported to police that she had been jogging in the park when she was hit by a pellet in the back of her head, leaving a cut.

According to a report from the New York City Police Department, she said she saw three men and two women, all black, laughing and making anti-white statements toward her. The suspects then fled.

The victim was taken to Roosevelt Hospital where she was treated and released. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
