Bronx hit-and-run leaves woman on bike dead

BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- A woman was killed when she was hit while riding her bike in the Bronx

Around 11:45 p.m. Sept. 11, police responded to a report of a bicycle collision at City Island Bridge and City Island Avenue. She had been riding a bicycle west over the City Island Bridge when she was struck by a white Hyundai sedan which then fled the scene.

The 27-year-old woman was unconscious with a head injury. She was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim has not been identified.
