Sneak Peek: 13th Annual 'Open House New York'
Lauren Glassberg has the details.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Kittie Lonsdale can make a claim unlike anyone else - her apartment is featured in the movie 'Spiderman'. Her windows feature views that make you go 'wow!', which is why she is gracious enough to open her door to Open House New York.

The annual event allows the public access to places they don't normally get to go, like the Gould Memorial Library at the Bronx Community College; you'll find a gilded dome inspired by the Pantheon in Rome.

Gregory Wessner narrowed down the sites for this weekend's event to 256, including Kittie's penthouse. Some locations, which are normally open to the public, will feature rarely seen areas.

Some of the sites require tickets and advance booking, but most are totally free, like the old TWA Terminal at JFK Airport. The flight center was built in 1962, and was designed by Eero Saarinen, but it has been closed for nearly 15 years. It was recently restored, and the space age curves will sweep you off your feet. It will be used for a Jet Blue hotel and museum - construction will begin soon.

Visitors will be required to wear a hard hat to tour the other 1960s structure. The Tent of Tomorrow, built by Philip Johnson for the 1964's World's Fair is part of the New York State Pavilion Complex at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and it's an absolute relic, mostly in disrepair aside from the fresh coat of yellow paint.
