HAZLETON, Pa. -- An owl in northeastern Pennsylvania is on the mend after slipping into a sewage tank.

An employee at the Hazleton Sewage Authority noticed the bird staring back at him from almost 20 feet below on Tuesday.

The worker quickly grabbed a pool skimmer and scooped up the owl.

The bird suffered a mild concussion.

A local environmental rehab center hopes to nurse the owl back to health and release it back into the wild by next week.
