PATH weekend suspension of 33rd Street line set to begin Saturday

PATH train weekend suspensions starting tomorrow

HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Starting Saturday, PATH riders using the 33rd Street line will have to find another way to get around on weekends.

At 12:10 a.m., workers will being safety and service improvements.

The suspensions are scheduled to run until Dec. 19. There will be no weekend service during that time from Hoboken to 33rd Street.

The Sixth Avenue PATH stations at Christopher Street, 9th Street, 14th Street, 23rd Street and 33rd Street also will be closed. Service will be suspended each Saturday at 12:10 a.m. and resume each Monday at 5 a.m. with the normal daily schedule.

Service will not be suspended during Labor Day (Sept. 3-5), Veteran's Day (Nov. 11-13) and Thanksgiving (Nov. 24-27).

PATH is adding weekend service between Hoboken and the World Trade Center and a free bus shuttle service from the WTC to West 29th Street along Sixth Avenue.
