Firefighters rescue dog from icy Delaware river

WILMINGTON -- Firefighters in Delaware rescued a man and a dog from the icy Brandywine River.

The pet had gotten loose and fell through the ice, and three people tried to save the dog but also fell in.

When firefighters arrived late Sunday night, one man and the dog were still in the water.

Ccrews used ladders to reach the man.

The firefighters then climbed down to harness the dog and pull it up to safety.
