Bronx Zoo's polar bear put to sleep
Rob Nelson reports on the death of the Bronx Zoo's polar bear named Tundra.

BRONX, New York (WABC) -- The Bronx Zoo's polar bear named Tundra has been put to sleep because of medical issues associated with old age.

He was 26 years old and suffered from kidney failure and bad arthritis.

Tundra was euthanized Saturday.

The polar bear was born at the Bronx Zoo and spent his whole life there. The zoo said it has no plans to acquire another polar bear any time soon.
