It's a tragic thing to see an animal suffer. Thank goodness three organizations are coming together to show the darker and brighter sides of a pet's life.

Wahl Pets is an organization located in Sterling, Illinois that provides grooming services to pets with and without homes. GreaterGood.org is a non-profit aimed at improving the health and well-being of people, pets and the planet. These two organizations came together to create the "Top Shelter Dog in America" contest, which hopes to raise availability and awareness of necessary grooming for shelter pets.

The campaign has also gotten a lot of help from One Picture Saves a Life, a group dedicated to educating staff and volunteers on how to take a high quality image of a shelter pet to raise its chances at adoption.
