Dog thrown out of moving car on Garden State Parkway in New Jersey

HOLMDEL, N.J. (WABC) -- A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about the person who threw a dog out of a moving car on the Garden State Parkway.

The Asbury Park Press reports the female terrier was thrown from a car in the southbound express lanes near Exit 116 in Holmdel Township, at about 1 p.m. Saturday.

The dog was then hit by a different vehicle.

An eyewitness stayed with the injured animal and called the police.

The dog is now in the care of veterinarians.
