Police officer saves choking driver
A police officer saved a driver choking in Cortlandt.

CORTLANDT, Westchester County (WABC) -- A Westchester County police officer was caught on camera saving the life of a man trying to make it to his daughter's home for Christmas.

When Officer David Dirienzo noticed a car driving erratically in Cortlandt, he pulled it over .

That's when he realized that the 48-year-old driver was choking and unable to speak.

Officer Dirienzo pulled the man out of the car and started the Heimlich maneuver.

After a few thrusts, an object flew out of the man's mouth, and he was finally able to breathe.
