Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo has been nominated to serve as Director of the CIA by President-elect Donald Trump.

Pompeo is a three-term congressman who is a member of the House Energy Committee and House Intelligence Committee.

He initially supported Sen. Marco Rubio's presidential bid, according to ABC News.

Pompeo must be confirmed by the Senate.
