1 dead in car wreck in Port Jefferson on Nesconset Highway

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (WABC) -- One person was killed at the scene of a single-car car wreck on Nesconset Highway Saturday morning.

According to Suffolk County Police, the wreck occurred at Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station around 5 a.m.

Route 347 was closed to traffic in both directions in the area.

Police have not released details about the circumstances behind the wreck.
