NEW YORK (WABC) -- A big fundraiser has big discounts on some popular designer clothes.
The annual POSH sale event started Thursday, with the money going to a charity that helps the blind and those visually impaired.
"People literally come from all over the country and line up around the block for this sale," said Marc Rosen of the Lighthouse Guild.
At first it's a little overwhelming, with rack after rack of items..Chanel, Oscar, Fendi. But take your time, once you're acclimated, it's well worth it as Marc pointed out with his own outfit.
"This very cool shirt is only $20, and this Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater is only $50," he said.
It's all part of this year's Posh sale. It's an annual event, which for more than 40 years, has served as a major fundraiser for Lighthouse Guild, a charity which served the blind and those who are visually impaired.
All proceeds for the sale go directly to the organization. "All that money goes to services, research," said Marc. "We really service the elderly, geriatrics who can't leave their home, we go there and help them to navigate".
Everything has been donated over the course of a year. It's a mix of vintage, new and gently used. One section is particularly fabulous. It's Missoni, it's new, and everything costs less than $100.
"It gives gals an opportunity who might not be able to buy clothes of that ilk, to buy great things for work, for evening, and start to build a great collection of clothes," said Marc.
There's an entire section just for men, and statement necklaces, earrings and bracelets, all for $10 or less. Last year the Posh sale pulled in roughly $1.5 million.
Each day volunteers will restock the racks with items in just about every size and price point.
