WATCH: Brazen purse snatching caught on video in the South Bronx

SOUTH BRONX, N.Y. (WABC) -- A brazen purse snatching was caught on video in the South Bronx, and police are asking for the public's help to identify the thief.

The crime happened at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near Foster Avenue and Rogers Avenue.

Police said the man grabbed the woman's purse from behind and took off running. The victim was with her 5-year-old son at the time.

The purse contained the woman's cellphone and wallet.

Neither the woman nor her son was injured in the attack.
