SOUTH OZONE PARK (WABC) -- An 88-year-old man died after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Queens.

Muhammed Ali was riding his bike when he was hit by a car that never stopped and left him for dead.

"I so miss him," said Coraisia Ali, the victim's wife.

Coraisia Ali was married for 67 years to a strong and vibrant man who never owned a car and rode his bicycle even at the age of 88.

But her husband, Mohammad was struck and killed in the middle of 131st Street by a hit-and-run driver. And after nearly two weeks, police have yet to make an arrest.

"I just keep thinking about him. You know you take things for granted and then you realize, he was always there," said Razia Ali, the victim's daughter.

The loss has left his family devastated. Mr. Ali was an immigrant from the South American nation of Guyana.

His American grandsons are struggling to comprehend the callousness of a driver who could run a man down in the street in broad daylight and keep on going.

"That person decided, they chose to drive away, and that weighs on me because how can you do that? It's disgusting," said Omar Janeer, the victim's grandson.

"If that person does come forward and they do try to redeem themselves or repent for what that person did, I think it would at least give some people some closure in this family," said Khalid Janeer, the victim's grandson.

Mrs. Ali says her pain is unbearable. Her life with Mohammad is all she's ever known.

"I want someone to do something about it. Someone can do something to help me," Coraisia Ali said.

If you have any information on this you are asked to call police at 1-800-577-TIPS.
