QUEENS (WABC) -- A terrifying case of road rage was caught on camera in Queens, with the victim left fearing for her life.
And Ashley, who requested that her last name not be used, says she still scared because the other driver remains out there.
It happened over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, and the driver reached out to the Eyewitness News Investigators with the video she captured in the hopes that the angry motorist can be tracked down.
The Connecticut woman and her friend feared for their safety as the outraged motorist spit, screamed obscenities and even kicked their car for miles along a congested Jackie Robinson Parkway.
"If you saw the look in this guys eyes, it was like pure hate and aggression," Ashley said. "And he was not stopping."
The horror began, she believes, after she blocked the man's exit from the highway because of traffic.
"Screaming, and he spit through the passenger window," she said. "And then he gets out of the car and starts kicking the front fender."
The force of his repeated kicks dented the car.
"He kicked that area multiple times," she said. "It wasn't just one kick."
Then, the man took multiple whacks at her car with a foam-covered metal cleaning pole, punching smaller dents all along the side. Ashley called 911 as she and her friend tried to drive away.
"He would swerve in our way," she said. "He was making it impossible for us to exit the highway...at one point, we thought he might have a gun, like who knows? This person is not right in the head."
After several minutes, they finally got away from the raging motorist and met up with police.
"He deserves to be arrested, as the police said this is a felony," Ashley said. "There is no doubt in my mind he would have ripped me out of the car...I just really hope they catch him, because I feel unsafe."
The Detective Squad at the 102nd Precinct in Queens is investigating the road rage incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
