Water main break in Jersey City closes road

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WABC) -- A water main is under repair after it broke and flooded a street section Wednesday morning.

United Water crews were repairing the main around 12:30 p.m. on Tonnelle Avenue, which remained closed southbound. Traffic was being detoured around the repairs.

There was also a small sinkhole near the break on Tonnelle Avenue.

The sinkhole is at Routes 1/9/Tonnelle Avenue, southbound at Manhattan Avenue.
