Sandy Kenyon review: 'Terminator Genisys', starring Arnold Schwarzenegger
Sandy Kenyon's review

In the new movie, "Terminator Genisys," the battle between Terminators, young and old -- one a villain, the other a good guy -- signals the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as a box office draw after two terms as governor of California.

I urge you to forget about those who have compared the new movie unfavorably to those that came before it.

The plot is that more than a decade from now, evil machines control the Earth and the human hero of the resistance, John Connor, played by Jason Clarke, wants to rewrite history by saving his mother.

Actor Jai Courtney's character offers to go back in time to accomplish that; actress Emilia Clarke's character -- so familiar as a blonde in "Game of Thrones," takes over the role of Sarah Connor from the 1984 version.

The notion of time travel is so preposterous that I didn't mind a script that throws out plot development in four previous movies in the series and introduces a notion of time so confusing I swear even Einstein could

not understand it.

The title "Terminator Genisys" refers to a computer program that looks like it's going to help humanity, but actually will prove its undoing unless our heroes can stop it.

Harsh reviews from critics didn't stop me from enjoying this movie and I urge you to see it as I did -- in 3-D on a big Imax screen where its visual delights are most obvious!
