Suspect sought in Queens attempted rape
Police are looking for the suspect in an attempted rape in Flushing.

FLUSHING, Queens (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man they say tried to rape a woman in Queens.

It happened in the early morning hours of August 26 near Barclay Avenue and Union Street in Flushing.

Investigators say the suspect grabbed the 27-year-old victim from behind and dragged her to the ground.

He began unbuttoning his pants but the woman was able to break free and run away.

The NYPD issued the following description of the suspect.

Male, 5'3" to 5'6", 130lbs to 160lbs. He last seen wearing a red plaid collared button shirt, a light colored baseball cap, dark colored jeans, a dark colored backpack, and black sneakers.
