SLATE HILL, Orange County (WABC) -- Two teenagers are dead and three other injured after a one-car crash Orange County over the weekend.
The victims' relatives say they were driving a burn victim to the hospital when their pick-up truck veered off a rain-slicked road and struck a utility pole, ejecting all five people in the vehicle.
The incident happened on Route 6 in Slate Hill just after 2 a.m. Sunday, and mourners have been gathering at the scene.
Investigators say the driver, 19-year-old Vincent Peluso, was traveling too fast around a curve. He and passenger Jared Santillo, also 19, were killed.
Santillo's brother said they were taking a teenager burned in a bonfire to the hospital.
Police say one occupant is in serious condition with internal injuries and two others have been released from a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
