1:06: The New York Racing Association canceled Saturday's races at Aqueduct Racetrack because of the snow.

12:03: Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim declared a snow emergency for Bridgeport as updated forecasts are calling for up to 8 inches of snow between mid-day and Saturday night. Parking is banned on all snow emergency routes in Bridgeport and is restricted to odd side of the street parking on all city streets until further notice to make a clear lane for city snow plows. 10:46: From the New York City Emergency Management Department, as of 10:15 a.m., heavier snow was moving in and travel conditions were quickly deteriorating. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour are likely through the afternoon.
