FLATIRON DISTRICT, Manhattan (WABC) -- A New York City restaurant found a lobster so rare in one of its shipments that it decided to save it.

Workers at Burger & Lobster in Manhattan's Flatiron District spotted the unique lobster in a batch that came in last week.

Yellow lobsters are rare - rarer than blue or red lobsters, according to the Lobster Institute. The odds of finding one are about 1 in 30 million, the institute said.

The restaurant immediately put the lobster in its own tank and gave it a name -- Ruby. And it gave it a pardon.

The owner of Burger & Lobster told Eyewitness News that he is looking to give Ruby away to an aquarium or a place where people can see unusual sight.
