These are uncertain times in the sports world, and the NBA has been at the center of adjusting to life without the normal routine of games. The league is on an indefinite suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic, and many personnel have been recommended to self-isolate for the near future.
Players have handled the new reality in a variety of ways, most notablyvia excessive gaming. But Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie asked which players are watching their highlights on YouTube:
One of the players watching his own highlights: Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry.
This weekend marked Curry's 32nd birthday. This entire season has missed Chef Curry highlights, as the two-time MVP has missed all but five games due to injury and illness.
Let us all take a moment, along with Curry, to celebrate greatness:
Curry wasn't the only star to answer Dinwiddie's call to action.
Boston Celtics power forward Jayson Tatum, fresh off his first All-Star game, has been watching his clips as well.
Tatum is leading the Boston Celtics with 23.6 points per game. Here are some of those points:
Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal didn't make the All-Star team, but he has been collecting voluminous levels of buckets all season. He had to let Dinwiddie and everyone else know:
Beal scored more than 50 points in back-to-back games this season. It doesn't matter right now that his team lost the games. This is a Bradley Beal moment.
Other players have been inspired by Dinwiddie to watch their own zeniths, includingBuddy Hield, Josh Richardson and first-time All-Star Donovan Mitchell.
Of course, Dinwiddie had one of the highlights of the NBA season before things went on hiatus, leading the Nets to a road win againstthe Los Angeles Lakersand MVP candidate LeBron James.
Hopefully the 2019-20 NBA season can return so more highlights can be made, butthat might not come until June.
