NEW YORK -- Severe weather moved through the New York City region Thursday, knocking over trees and causing flash flooding on some roads.
The storm doused the city mid-afternoon, and prompted both flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of the region. The warnings even sounded cellphone emergency alerts, too.
Eyewitness News viewers reported street flooding on the FDR. Juan Lewis captured this video for us:

The rain was very heavy.
A tarp-covered Citi Field was the name of the game in Queens:
We've also had some reports of trees down in some parts of the area, including Whitestone and Bayside, Queens.
