TRANSIT ALERT: Signal problems, broken rails cause delays on several subway lines

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The weather is wreaking havoc on the New York City subway system Thursday, with delays and suspensions reported on multiple lines.

Due to a rail condition at West 4th Street-Washington Square, the following service changes are in effect:

--Southbound A trains are running express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street

--E train service is either delayed or suspended

--C train service is either delayed or suspended

Due to inclement weather conditions, there are delays on the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, A, B, D, F, N, Q and S lines.

Riders are advised to allow additional travel time.
