NEW YORK (WABC) -- This week's Up Close dives into two important issues: Flooding preparation in New York City and brain aneurysm awareness.
During Superstorm Sandy, parts of Lower Manhattan were inundated with 14 feet of water. The seven subway lines that run under the East River were shut down. It was a devastating natural disaster for the city.
City leaders are now prepping for the next big flooding event. The mayor announced NYC will spend $100 million on a new effort to build berms and flood walls to try to try to hold back the water.

Also during Up Close, Bill Ritter spoke with Todd Crawford, the widower of WABC reporter Lisa Colagrossi. Crawford is trying to raise awareness of brain aneurysms, which is how Colagrossi tragically died in March.
Crawford has created the Lisa Colagrossi Foundation, with the goal of raising $7 million in Lisa's name over the next seven months.
